SCHOOL ALARM SYSTEM

The FLEX SERIES SCHOOL ALARM SYSTEM is a multimode alarm system that recognizes alarms from five different sources and can alert recipients in six different ways. Each alarm source can activate the different modes of communication to the recipients.

The sources of alarms that can be recognized are as follows:
1. Top Orange Button of CS100A radio
2. Top side button of CS100A radio
3. Bottom side button of CS100A radio
4. Hardwired Input 1
5. Hardwired Input 2

The six different communications modes each source can activate are as follows:
1. Texting to a virtually unlimited number of smart phones
2. E-Mailing to a virtually unlimited number of e-mail accounts
3. Prerecorded voice message to as many as eight different telephone numbers
4. Prerecorded voice Message over schools Public Address System
5. Prerecorded voice message sent back to all the CS100A's in the school
6. A relay for activating an emergency siren or bell

When the texting or e-mail originates from one of the buttons on the CS100A radio, the teacher or administrator who originated the alarm is identified.

The following scenarios will give some examples how the FLEX SERIES ALARM SYSTEM can be used.

A teacher spots an unknown intruder carrying a gun and presses the emergency button on the top of the low cost CS100A radio. The FLEX SERIES ALARM SYSTEM captures the incident and does the following:

1. Transmits an encrypted sequence to the USB port of an attached PC that texts and e-mails the Mayor, Chief of Police, DHS, NSA and FBI, all the teachers and administrators in the school, and a virtually unlimited number of other interested parties. This message indicates the school where the incident happened, the type of incident, and the teacher who originated the call.
2. Transmits a fixed voice message over the base station back to all the radios in the school that indicates there is a lock down.
3. Transmits a fixed voice message over the schools PA system alerting those teachers that do not have radios or out of radio range that there is a lock down
4. Automatically speed dials up to eight different people on a landline leaving a pre-recorded voice message.

A few seconds after the emergency button is pressed the teacher can then use the normal radio function of the CS100A radio to communicate to the office a more detailed explanation of what happened.

A teacher spots a student carry a knife and presses the top side button on the CS100A radio and confronts the student. The FLEX SERIES ALARM SYSTEM captures the incident and does the following:

1. Transmits an encrypted sequence to the USB port of an attached PC that texts and e-mails the principal and the security guard of the possible threat.
2. Automatically speed dials the office with a prerecorded message indicating the incident the teacher observed in case the principal and security guard cannot receive the text or e-mail..
3. Allows the teacher to communicate with the office using the CS100A radio to indicate the status of the threat.

A teacher sees a fight between two students and notices that one of the students is probably injured. The teacher presses the bottom side button on the CS100A radio. The FLEX SERIES ALARM SYSTEM captures the incident and does the following:

1. Transmits an encrypted sequence to the USB port of an attached PC that texts and e-mails the Principal, Vice Principal, Security Guard, the local police department, and the school nurse.
2. Automatically speed dials the office with a prerecorded message indicating the incident the teacher observed in case the principal and security guard cannot receive the text or e-mail..
3. Allows the teacher to communicate with the office using the CS100A radio to indicate the status of the disturbance.

The school is informed that there might be tornadoes in the area in two hours and wants to evacuate the school. The principal presses switch 1 attached to the FLEX SERIES ALARM SYSTEM and the FLEX SERIES ALARM SYSTEM captures the incident and does the following:

1. Transmits an encrypted sequence to the USB port of an attached PC that texts and e-mails all the parents to immediately pick up their children.
2. Transmits a fixed voice message over the base station back to all the radios in the school that indicates there is a mandatory evacuation.
3. Transmits a fixed voice message over the schools PA system alerting those teachers that do not have radios or out of radio range that there is a mandatory evacuation.

The principal is looking out his window and notices an unexpected tornadoes heading for the school. The principal presses switch 2 attached to the FLEX SERIES ALARM SYSTEM and the FLEX SERIES ALARM SYSTEM captures the incident and does the following:

1. Transmits a fixed voice message over the base station back to all the radios in the school that indicates there is an impending tornado. This will alert the teachers to take emergency action to find a shelter.
2. Transmits a fixed voice message over the schools PA system alerting those teachers that do not have radios or out of radio range that there is an impending tornado. This will alert the teachers to take emergency action to find a shelter.
