SOFTWARE AND FIRMWARE FOR CS800D
With the latest firmware installed, these radios can transmit from at least 136-174 MHz and 400-470 MHz and beyond. If your radio is not FCC Part 90 certified, it is illegal to transmit outside the ham bands. If the radio is FCC Part 90 certified, it is illegal to transmit at frequencies past 470 MHz. If you want to operate outside the ham bands, you must be licensed for those bands. If your radio is working and not giving you any problems and you do not want or need the latest enhancements, it is recommended you leave your firmware alone. If its not broken don't fix it!

August 1 , 2018 Clearing a locked CS800D | August 1 , 2018 If your CS800D is not responding normally, or turns on with only the mic and display lit and no text in the display, update to the latest firmware version using the procedure shown above. This will clear any corrupted code plug. |
Prolific Drivers and Documentation |
The front panel programming cable uses a Prolific Integrated Circuit. This chip requires you to have a driver in your PC to use that cable. This cable uses a chip that is probably not compatible with the Windows 8 or Windows 10 operating system. The documentation within the ZIP files explains how to determine what version of the Prolific Chip you have and what Microsoft Operating system it is compatible with. |
Recovering From a Bricked Radio | This document explains how to recover your CS800D if it gets bricked. |
Tuning
Software Version 2.26 -----------.April 16, 2024------------- | This software is used to tune the parameters in the CS800D and other radios sold by Connect Systems and made by CoValue. To use this you need a service monitor or the equivalent and the knowledge of how to tune a radio. As an example, sometimes increasing the power output of the radio will actually decrease the power output if you go beyond a certain point. It is very easy to brick the radio if you do things wrong and there is no quick way to recover without sometimes spending hours of time with the proper test equipment. All warranties are void if you use this software. |
Contact Manager | The Contact Manager is a free program written and supported by Tom Wheeler that allows you to move code plugs between different radios. Clicking on this link jumps to Tom Wheeler's web site. |
