CS800_CS801 unbricking Instructions (pdf) | June 6 , 2020 You can update your radio from whatever version you have to this version without having to go through any intermediate steps.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A CURRENT SOFTWARE LICENSE 1. Using the "Software Control License Register" utility from the Tool Section of the CPS to determine if you need to register your radio. 2. If you need to update the radio, send the file to [email protected] and you will get a return file. 3. Use the "Software Control License Apply" utility from the Tool Section of the CPS to register your radio if not already registered. For details on this procedure, download the application note "Instructions for upgrading software License (PDF)" available to the left.
SAVE YOUR CODE PLUG 1. Load the code plug from your radio using your the CPS that you normally use for that version of the firmware currrently in your radio. 2. Save the code plug as you will need it later.
UPDATE THE FIRMWARE USING THE DB15 PROGRAMMING CABLE Use Flashburn 3.00 to load the following programs. Use the USB to DB15 programming cable. 1. Get the radio into programming mode by pressing P1 as you turn on the radio. The LED should now blink showing multiple colors 2. Load Bootloader R2.04S using Flashburn 3.00 if you do not already have it installed. 3. Turn off the radio. 4. Get the radio into programming mode by pressing P1 as you turn on the radio. The LED should now blink showing multiple colors 5. Load CS800_RCDB_Upgrade using Flashburn 3.00 if you have the CS800 or load CS801_RCDB_Upgrade using Flashburn 3.00 if you have the CS801 6. Turn off the radio. 7. Get the radio into programming mode by pressing P1 as you turn on the radio. The LED should now blink showing multiple colors 8. Load Firmware Version 3.02.06 using Flashburn 3.00. 9. Turn off the radio. 10. Turn on the radio.
UPDATE THE FRONT PANEL USING THE RJ45 PROGRAMMING CABLE. Use the Front Panel Update Tool to load the following program. 1. Unzip the Front Panel Firmware 2. Load Front Panel Firmware
UPDATE THE VOICE USING THE DB15 PROGRAMMING CABLE 1. Unzip the voice packet file 2. Reload the Voice Packets using the CPS
RESTORE YOUR CODE PLUG 1. Using the CPS Data Translate program in CPS version R4.01.008, update the code plug saved earlier. 2. Write it back to your radio. For details on this procedure, download the application note "Instructions for upgrading the code plug (PDF)" available to the left.

These affected TX Contacts, RX Group Lists, and One Touch Call lists, particularly when the Contact list was sorted by name instead of ID number. This problem has been chased down and corrected in 4.00.32. Please update your CPS as soon as possible to avoid the contacts problems in your code plugs. 19, 2016 | April 19, 2016 This version correctly supports up to 65,280 contacts loaded to the radio, which can be accessed via Contacts > Manual Dial menu. We are still working with the manufacturer to address the remainder of the contacts and provide full support for 65535 contacts. MDC1200 Decoding has been improved and should operate better on the radio. Some modifications have been made to the Advanced Features set for front panel programming although testing indicates there is still much work to be done. We are still working with the manufacturer to to resolve these issues and get front panel programming operate properly. |

This cable uses a chip that is probably not compatible with the Windows 8 or Windows 10 operating system. The documentation within the ZIP files explains how to determine what version of the Prolific Chip you have and what Microsoft Operating system it is compatible with. |
